Critical Control Point Metal Detection System for HACCP-Compliant Food Safety

The CCP Industrial Metal Detector is a high-performance, food-grade metal detection system specifically designed for installation at Critical Control Points (CCPs) in food production lines. It is engineered to detect and reject ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless steel contaminants in a wide variety of food products-whether packaged, unpackaged, or bulk-ensuring safety, compliance, and quality in accordance with global food safety standards such as HACCP, IFS, BRC, and FSMA.
With its robust construction, high detection sensitivity, and smart rejection systems, this metal detector is a critical component for manufacturers aiming to minimize contamination risks and protect both consumers and brand reputation.
Strategically installed at CCPs in the processing line to meet hazard control plans
Fully supports food safety audit trails, traceability, and validation
Detects:
Ferrous metals
Non-ferrous metals
Stainless steel (SUS 304 / SUS 316)
Advanced signal processing ensures accuracy, even in high-moisture or conductive products
Rejects contaminated products without stopping the line
Configurable options: air blast, pusher arm, drop flap, retracting conveyor, etc.
Fail-safe rejection confirmation prevents contaminated product bypass
Adapts to products with high salt, moisture, or acid content (e.g., meat, dairy, bread)
Multi-frequency or dual-phase detection systems minimize false positives
Records each detection event with date, time, product type, and operator ID
USB and Ethernet export for traceability and regulatory audits
Built-in test mode and reminder for routine compliance checks

Food processors require foreign object detection to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance. However, inspection personnel are under increasing pressure to ensure that they do not hinder their productivity. This pressure has increased as food processors have to meet increasing supply chain demands for more at home meals.
Foreign objects include metals like nonferrous, ferrous, and stainless steel shavings. These are also common foreign objects that can be found in food processing facilities. Food processors must assess HACCP to determine where foreign objects may enter their processes and make sure that there is a control such as a metal detector in place to limit escapes.
Metal detection has been used long ago to identify foreign metal items in food. However, metal detectors have had some problems until recently. Mineral-rich foods such fresh salad greens and high-salt foods like meat, cheese, fresh-baked bread and cheese are highly conductive. They can mimic metal signals. Metal detectors also were susceptible to environmental conditions like temperature swings as well as electromagnetic interference from nearby equipment. It's difficult to avoid false rejections. This can result in increased scrap or rework costs, and an impact on operational efficiency.
There is another problem with bread because each loaf is different. Metal detectors can mistakenly think that a contaminant may be present in bread, resulting in the rejection of good products.
