The Force and Torque Measurement Checkweighing System is a portable system that measures the force and torque of a vehicle. It consists of a set of sensors, measuring points, and an electronic circuit board. The sensors measure forces in pounds, kilograms, and newtons; the measuring points can be placed on any surface of the vehicle; and the electronic circuit board records data from each sensor's position.
The system is designed to measure forces applied to the surface of a moving vehicle. The weight of any object that is not attached to the vehicle is considered to be zero (i.e., no force is being applied). When an object is attached to the vehicle, then its weight applies additional force on the vehicle's surface area. The greater its mass, the more force it applies on each square inch of its surroundings.
